I've heard a lot of mixed feelings about them. But nobody really backs up why they like or don't like them. I personally love them. I love the storyline, the feel of being a spy with a bunch of guns, and in the fourth game, the fact that it's going to be more of a killing people quietly game. So... an assassin spy.
My point is, instead of this being a giant, unbacked up opinion thread, I want this to be a more civil and intelligent discussion.

Honestly this series was so much better before it became solid... not that I don't like the solid series.
And honestly if you don't know what i am talking about here than how can we have a serious conversation?

Are you kidding me - ITS ALL ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY!!! They did not have graphics and sound to rely on so the game play had to be solid - Don't get me wrong the solid stuff is cool but not better than the original!

I have sadly never played the original Metal Gear games. Wish I could though. I was really hoping they would have come with my Essential Collection pack, but they didn't. So anyways... I did find that there was a whole lot of story and cut scenes... but anyone who's played any of them knows that. Though, I personally think Kojima did a great job with the storyline, being so in-depth and confusing. As for gameplay... I mean... that's really why I play them. The story is just a good addition.
